| Gaming Applications Software Architect - Gibraltar |
Our client is searching for a highly experienced Software Architect, specialized in Gaming Applications. This technically oriented position is responsible for establishing and maintaining systems and associated work processes to provide an industry leading Gaming Platform in J2EE/C++/ORACLE environment.
Key Responsibilities / Activities
To be part of enterprise architecture group that shapes enterprise technology, strategy and architecture roadmap.
Create and maintain a long term enterprise wide Gaming application architecture, bringing together future vision, current best practices and legacy systems.
Provide consultation and mentorship to multiple project teams. Serve as the technical application design authority on multiple projects by creating and maintenance high-level design and other relevant technical requirements documentation.
Establish technical standards and best practices, leveraging industry standards. Ensure projects are aligned with the IT Strategy and compliant with corporate technical standards.
Identify opportunities based on technical knowledge and industry trends.
Work with our software vendors to understand and leverage existing product capabilities and shape direction of the product to best benefit company needs.
Communicate and evangelize the use of standards and how the vision of a services-oriented architecture can be realized.
Create processes and techniques that will improve performance and maintainability of applications.
Advise senior IT leadership (technical skills required, organizational structure).
Build and sustain commitment to IT strategy by mentoring lead developers and advising IT management on best maintenance practices.
Establish industry standard quality performance indicators for gaming platform that will be monitored and managed by IT ops.
Experience / Qualifications Requirements
Minimum of eight (8) years experience in applications development in similar environment (gaming, trading, e-commerce).
Minimum of three (3) years experience as development manager/ software architect working in large projects.
Hands on experience in J2EE/ORACLE environment.
Experience in client development would be an asset.
Experience in introduction of new technology standards, processes and procedures.
Skills / Competencies
Demonstrated expert knowledge of development in server side technologies.
Demonstrated ability to build, manage and motivate a team
Demonstrated leadership skills and a willingness to be accountable.
Strong coordination and project management skills
Results oriented and a willingness to get involved at a practical level when required
Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
