Servicedesk specialist - Gibraltar
Our client is searching for a Servicedesk specialist to report to the Servicedesk Team Lead.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Implement, maintain and monitor all systems, including but not limited to, file and print services, e-mail, application and database servers, desktop and server applications, desktop hardware, backup and recovery, virus protection and security to ensure maximum service reliability and availability.
• Maintain and monitor all ISP services including but not limited to, DotNet, ASP, billing applications and database servers to ensure continuity of service.
• Inspect, maintain, and monitor all aspects of data centers to ensure continuity of service.
• Achieve or exceed systems availability targets to maximize user satisfaction.
• Maintain a register of all supported hardware and software to enable effective asset management.
• Establish and maintain backup and recovery processes for all Desktop Service systems to ensure business continuity.
• Evaluate hardware and software solutions and make recommendations for improvements.
• Manage and develop team members, assigning priorities and tracking progress to ensure timely and delivery to high standards.
• Manage the regular upgrading of software and application of patches to ensure systems remain current.
• Ensure all procedures and processes are documented to enable consistent and robust service delivery.
• Establish and maintain a regular capacity planning regime, including the provision of performance reports to enable future planning.
• This is a 24x7 varying shift position. You will be expected to work shifts occurring at varying times of the day, varying days of the week (based on prior notice and subject to shift work policy).
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
• ITIL foundation certified
• MCSE - Microsoft server systems experience
• Novell experience
• A minimum 4 years experience in an IT support environment
• Ability to communicate with IT users & all levels of business
Desirable
• IT Degree and/or CNE qualifications
• MS-SQL experience
• Previous experience managing technical teams
