Our client who are a leading name in the online gaming arena are searching for a Solutions Architect in their ever expanding mobile department.
The role of Solutions Architect shapes the forward view of IS and ensures investment is linked to long-term business strategy. The key focus of this role is to work extremely closely with key business personnel to seek new solutions for the company and ensure that the IS function is prepared to deliver.
Reporting to the Gibraltar Architecture Lead, this role focuses on helping to define and drive the future mobile strategy for the company ensuring that technology, processes and platforms are chosen and implemented appropriately. This role will also help to shape the on-going mobile delivery model.
Responsibilities
Work with engineers, architects, and product management to explore and prototype new services and capabilities in the mobile space
Contribute to the Mobile Development Team technology strategy and roadmap
Influence adoption of central mobile capabilities, standards, and principles
Drive consistency of design and architecture across the Mobile Development Team
Work with the IS Supplier and Procurement Manager to maintain relations with external management teams and keep them informed and involved in future IS strategies
Work with the Head of Architecture and Gibraltar Architecture Lead to establish architectural governance and oversight of IS delivery and services to ensure a balance of near-term pragmatism with long-term direction
Contribute to the design and policing of Enterprise Infrastructure; Technical Architectures & Solutions Architectures
Ensure business systems meet the stated, technical, architecture requirements (e.g. performance, stability, capacity, human factors, throughput, etc) in collaboration with the Head of Delivery when defining projects
To ensure that deployed technology is always appropriate to meet the current and planned future needs of the Business
Essential skills/attributes
Experience in a similar role, specifically Internet based businesses from Betting and Gaming, Retail, Banking and/or IT Consultancy, ideally within a highly regulated industry
Significant application development experience, which must be in the mobile field
Excellent programming skills, ability to apply design patterns to real problems
Experience with iOS, Android and HTML5/CSS3/Javascript development
Familiarity of Cross Platform Development Tools and 3rd party mobile library integrations
A thorough understanding of architectural design principles
Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and work well under pressure
Desirable skills/attributes
Knowledge of JEE/Oracle/LAMP/.Net based technology
Knowledge of systems integration standards including ESB, SOA, XML, SOAP, HTTP and network topology
Knowledge of Project methodologies such as RUP, Agile, XP
