Our client is searching for a Development Database Administrator who will be a part of the data management team responsible for feature design and development. In addition the Development Database Administrator will be responsible for ETL Development and Database Architecture.
Responsible for database design and architecture, including base definition, and structure documentation
Perform business requirement analysis, project management, support and other duties consistent with this level of responsibility
Create and manage schema documentation and other technical artifacts relating to development
Aid in diagnosing the cause of database incidents through a structured process of investigation and knowledgebase content
Interact with other support functions to assist with minimising the impact and resolving of database incidents and re-occurring events
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential:
? Technical experience in a number of database technologies from: Oracle, MS SQL Server, Informix and MySQL.
? Very competent SQL skills for multiple platforms including Oracle, Informix and SQL Server.
? Broad understanding of database architectures and the latest database technologies
? Experience in implementing and interpreting database monitoring
? Experience of performing database and query performance tuning
? Capable of installing and patching RDBMS software across a number of platforms
? Capable of capturing and assisting with database sizing and capacity planning
? Highly focused on providing service with a diligent, meticulous and reliable approach to all work undertaken
? Broad understanding of the requirements for OLTP and Data Warehouse systems.
? Data modelling and database design experience
? Good understanding of query and procedural database code
