Our client is looking for a number of PHP Developers to work from Barcelona. Working with the latest open-source technologies, this role also involves developing in a distributed computing environment and implementing middle-tier software to integrate with third-party services.
You will
Work closely with business managers, User Experience experts, Technical lead to design application solutions
Apply development expertise to everyday development
Communicate constantly, usefully and precisely
Provide reliable estimates for technical work
Work with QA leads to ensure timelines are met and risk is mitigated
Deliver high-quality components that meet all project environments
Write quality documentation
WHAT YOU NEED:
A degree in Computer Science or Engineering
Advanced experience in PHP, minimum of 5 years software development experience
Advanced understanding of object oriented programming and other structured programming principles
Competent in Javascript and the use of Javascript frameworks (JQuery)
Competent in the use of database systems primarily MySQL
Competent in developing/deploying software in a Linux production environment
Extensive experience debugging code and diagnosing problems in production systems
Experienced with creating high availability and scalable systems
Demonstrated knowledge of version control tools (e.g. SVN, CVS)
Must be comfortable developing new systems as well as maintaining an existing legacy PHP web application.
Have skills in other languages considered an asset (Java, etc)
Experience working with online gaming systems is desirable
Candidates must be comfortable with providing development time estimates and meeting the deadlines at all costs
Must be proficient in English
Salary circa 40k based on experience
