Our client is searching for a Solutions Architect to work with the Head of Architecture and work extremely closely with key business personnel to seek new solutions for the business and ensure that the IS function is prepared as best as possible to deliver as part of a long-term business strategy. As such this is a vital role in maintaining the integrity of systems, the consistency of applied architectures and providing strategic direction.
You will provide direction to and manage the Technical Architects with the design and specification of the technical infrastructure components needed to deliver non-functional requirements. You will work with the Head of Architecture to establish architectural governance and oversight of IS delivery and services to ensure a balance of near-term pragmatism with long-term direction. You will maintain infrastructure; applications & data vision; landscapes and roadmaps providing input into the IS Portfolio planning and Capital Expenditure process to ensure future scheduling of projects has sufficient weighting.
You will have solid experience in a similar role, specifically Internet based businesses from Betting and Gaming, Retail, Banking and/or IT Consultancy. Significant experience in a software design and development role using web technologies and database driven applications such as JEE/Oracle/LAMP/.NET based technology. You will have proven track record and ability in leading technical staff, using wide-ranging skills (including planning, organising and interpersonal skills).
Ideally you will have knowledge of systems integration standards including ESB, SOA, XML, SOAP, HTTP and network topology and knowledge of HP & Sun infrastructure technologies.
