| Network Operations Technician |
Our client is searching for a Network Operations Technician to join their IT team.
Responsibilities
Will help assist Engineering and be part of a NOC team monitoring and troubleshooting. Support and maintenance of network elements and connections. Work to provide support on core, distribution and access network elements on connections as needed. You will be required to work a 24/7 shift in a team environment and help establish procedures aimed at improving quality of services.
Job duties include
-handle escalated trouble calls and work closely with engineering, other NOC technicians, and telecommunications carries to resolve service issues
-provide technical support to high profile customers
-work with upstream providers to resolve issues
-validate problem descriptions and perform detailed problem diagnosis, track and update problems in trouble ticketing system
-perform OS upgrades and other configuration access changes to network switches and routers
-maintain awareness of network activities affecting local elements
-recommend solutions to correct network trouble issues and faults
-perform other duties as assigned by management
-typically have 2+ years skilled and experience in network troubleshooting
-strong knowledge of network monitoring tools
Desired Qualifications
-2+ years experience with IP and /or SDH networks
-knowledge of routers and switches which can include working in the field or Operations Center
-knowledge of routing, configuration and hardware
-strong knowledge of TCP/IP
-excellent computer skills
-excellent oral and written communications skills
-ability to effectively manage to deadlines
-ability to interface at all levels within the organization
-previous NOC experience preferred
-CCNA or equivalent highly desired
-JunOS an advantage
-Spanish language an advantage but not essential
