| Senior Financial Accountant |
Our client is searching for a Senior Financial Accountant to be responsible for supporting the Financial Controller in ensuring that complete and accurate accounting information is available on a timely basis to enable preparation of monthly accounts and annual financial statements for three Group companies. You will take care of the maintenance of the general ledgers and review all journal entries and key account reconciliations, reviewing the trial balance for reasonableness prior to working with the Financial Controller to prepare the monthly and annual accounts. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with IFRS, particularly in the areas of provisions and contingent liabilities, revenue recognition and intangible assets, all of which are pertinent to the business.
Your Responsibilities
• Gaining a thorough understanding of our income streams from various partners via familiarisation with the contracts in place, enabling revenue recognition in line with IFRS
• Calculation of monthly provisions and year-end contingent assets and liabilities based upon information provided by our Back Office system
• Accounting for intangible assets and revaluation of the same
• Maintenance of the Chart of Accounts and Schedule of Levels of Authorisation
• Review of all journal entries and account reconciliations
• Review and analysis of accounting information held, together with the Financial Accountant
• Assisting in preparation of monthly accounts packs, including meaningful notes and analysis, for the three Group companies
• Assisting in preparation of full year-end financial statements for the Group companies
• Liaison with external auditors and collation of supporting schedules and working papers for the same
• Providing maternity cover for the higher level of the Financial Accountant's work, e.g. accruals, prepayments, AP supervision, GL management and expenditure variance analysis
• Ad hoc project work
Your Professional Profile
• A degree in Accounting or Finance
• Professional accountancy qualification, preferably ACA
• 3 years of professional experience, preferably with some experience in the online sector
• Demonstrable experience of statutory financial accounting including production of annual accounts to IFRS
• Excellent knowledge of IFRS, particularly IAS 18, 37 and 38
• Excellent use of MS Excel including pivot tables and Vlookup
• Ability to work on own initiative and produce high quality work even when the time is short
• A team player with excellent communication skills who is confident to deal with our internal and external customers
Salary is £40k – £50k
