| Commercial Finance Manager |
Our client is searching for a Commercial Finance Manager to be responsible for providing financial analysis to senior management and in particular leads the financial planning, financial reporting and commercial decision support. The main responsibilities are below:
Responsible for the periodic financial reporting for the company, including interpretation of the results for senior management;
Responsible for the coordination and production of annual plan and periodic forecasts for the company;
Responsible for the identification and establishment of KPIs throughout the organisation integrating these KPIs where appropriate into financial projection models;
Identification and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators for the company and in particular, income, customer and marketing metrics;
Responsible for supporting senior management in the negotiation of key contracts and other business developments, providing financial analysis as appropriate;
Overall responsibility for the financial reporting and control of all IS project accounting, including post implementation audits/benefits tracking;
Responsible for Remote business competitor analysis and comparisons on profitability and other KPIs;
Ad hoc projects as required.
This is a high profile role, which interacts with the most senior managers in the organisation on a regular basis. The jobholder must have the confidence and independence to challenge senior management about commercial issues but in such a way that does not alienate those managers from the process. The jobholder will be required to prepare and present Board level information that is comprehensive and detailed enough to analyse the main issues and opportunities for the business but presented in a manner that allows non-finance professionals to understand those issues and opportunities.
You will be a qualified accountant, with 5-10 years PQE gained in a commercial role within a large organisation. Experience of involvement in commercial decisions in a fast moving consumer facing organisation is essential while involvement in an e-commerce industry would be advantageous.
You should be precise, analytical and able to work under tight timelines. Experience of managing others is essential. Good communication and persuasion skills are also essential, as is the confidence and gravitas to interact with the senior members of the company’s management. You must be a good team player with the ability to build effective relationships throughout the organisation.
Good systems knowledge is important to the role, as are modelling skills – the role will involve the use of excel, PowerPoint etc.
