| IT Manager |
Our client is searching for an IT Manager with recent and relevant experience. This position provides strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation and co-ordination of the information and technology systems for group, whilst learning of the setup of group systems in order to provide support in the Group IT Manager’s absence.
The IT Manager serves and participates proactively with the Group IT Manager in developing and executing strategic plans to optimise the use of IT in support of business objectives.
Principal accountabilities are as follows:
• Co-ordination of all IT hardware, software and software licensing requirements throughout the Group.
• Reviewing, advising on upgrading and improvement of and maintaining the Group’s existing network and electronic mail communications systems.
• Ensuring compatibility between all Group offices in terms of all software (word processing, data base, virus, etc).
• Adjusting and adapting the systems with a view to enabling optimum electronic mail communications between Group companies, internally between staff and with clients.
• Liaising with local support service providers in remote jurisdictions, and monitoring IT system performance, and backups to ensure service levels are being met.
• Provide responsive advice, counsel, and service to the Group IT Manager concerning IT issues and trends in the IT industry.
• Gather pertinent information required by the Group IT Manager in making effective decisions.
• Assist developing and maintaining Group wide business recovery plans to ensure timely and effective restoration of IT services in the event of a disaster.
The IT Manager should have a good working knowledge of the following:
• TCP/IP, Routing, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, NAT
• Desktop support for Microsoft Windows XP, Vista and Office
• Server support for Microsoft Windows Server 2000 and 2003, SQL Server 2000 and 2005, Exchange Server 2000 and 2005
• Some experience with web development – HTML, XHTML, ASP, ASP.NET, JavaScript
